I have published 10 videos to make a video tutorial series about “How to make robotic arm” . Started about servo motor as actuator to how to make 4 DOF Arduino controlled robotic arm.
Here is the link of all tutorials:
Video1: About Actuator, Basic structure of servomotor and working principle and how to control from Arduino
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiGcBLWpcF0
Video2: How to use powerful servo motor. Understand the current consumption to select right power supply otherwise it may reset the system due to voltage drop for over load.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eg4C5iIusZQ&t=267s
Video3: How to use a simple sensor to control the servo rotation via Arduino. I also tired to explain the schematic and BOM are all you need to make a circuit board. You no need to see and copy an assembled board.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5Jqxbu-RKo&t=7s
Video4: How to make a 1 DOF arm which is controlled via a sensor mounted on human body. Suppose the sensor is on your elbow so by moving your and you can control the elbow of the robot.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3Ln6nsK8IQ
Video5: Basic structure of a robotic arm and definition of degrees of freedom (DOF). Where I also explained about robotic grippers. And how they are used for different application using the same arm. Here is one simple wire guided robotic gripper.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UR_ioPrMFs&t=173s
Video6: A geared servo-based home made gripper. The gears are handmade from MDF/Wood
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcd_RlLehmA&t=11s
Video7: Then we found the issues with the above gripper and modified it to a parallel jaw Arduino controlled gripper for better grip.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iw9NzW-oGeU&t=41s
Video7: We soon understand that its not an easy task to grip different object properly so me made one miniature universal servo gripper and it performed well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXjeC3LzydA&t=155s
Using all the knowledge and skill we got from above projects we made a 4DOF robotic arm
It’s A to Z process were explained in two following parts
Video8: Part1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08Znj2TJLDs&t=51s
Video9: Part2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=op48_EU2KOg&t=2s
Future improvement: Store the task in EEPROM and repeat multiple times.
Connected the control pot to make one joy stick to improve the control accuracy.
