In this video I have technically explained about a handmade hybrid microSD. the overall thickness of it was 1.15mm. But it is technically possible to make a microSD with inbuilt SIM security element as a product too ( thickness 0.8mm). The microSD pcb layout needs to be designed in such a way that the gold pad will be at the bottom side of microSD pcb. If more and more mobile phones come with hybrid slot like xiaomi redmi note 3 then telecom provider can sell a 16GB or 32 GB Hybrid SIM. The issue will be the cost of the SIM as flash price will get added.
